check your distributor and see if it moved, if it rotated , your timing is off, you could be hearing spark knock at that rpm, it will also make it...

you mean a 301. If you want a 331 bore out a 327

you will want to make sure and measure stem to guide clearance and hone to proper clearance..... this can be tough to do with the typical home...
