hey matt, lookin cool. Regarding the shim, take a look at hotrod1959 thread on his yellow 59 or tim's crew cab. I believe both show the shim in place.
don't do it. shorten the horns. you'll be glad you did. many examples of sucked in stock bumpers. The problem with the two cover trucks, though...
