check all your grounds. I had a "starter" problem and one of my grounds was loose. Fixed it right up!
See the 239 in mine seems to run smoothest at 3000 RPM. But I dont know if that's bad on the motor. Seems to be at 60 -65 MPH around there.
I think he means so you do not see a WALMART sticker on your battery when you pop the hood.
x2
I also forgot to mention it's an all stock on the motor.
I've been working on my Shoebox for the past 2 months and driving it daily. Has a great running 239 in it with the 3 speed and stock rear. I drive...
Hoping for the best. I have family over there.
You need to strip and crimp.
I tried to make my motor look like a caddy. The dizzy was in the rear so I put it up front but couldnt get it to jam in there sideways. haha
3 Thumbs up! I just got rid of one. Had a 351C and a C6. I love those trucks and will be looking for another one soon. Great motor/tranny combo.
I say bias plys and call it good....
Definately lower the motor. I can go either way on the stance. Paint it the color it is and maybe get some caps for those wheels. Packard caps?...
My 49 Merc

Hell I'd sell the grille and get a quarter of your money back and do a custom grille for cheap! Love the ideas and everything. Keep us updated.
Did I make the Cut?! Nothing for a Shoe?
Oh... Got ya! Then Quantum or Metal glaze works great. Either one I have used them and have had great success.
Z Grip
Yeah they'll do the job. They support tongue weight of 5th wheels and trailers so i'm sure the weight of a car or truck should be nothing for...
They're airbags. Yes they will work. Won't get much lift out of them though.
 Beautiful work.
Here's my 50 Shoe. Going for a 60's style custom. Frenched head lights and tail lights, completely shaved, peaked the hood, all ready for paint......
You just made me miss my fridge that much more.
may be there in the Shoe.
Both are bad ass motors. I'd have to flip a coin.
Have you tried stich welding it? That thin metal heats very quickly. Are you just trying to run straight stringer beads?
Well do you have your WFS and Voltage settings adjusted properly? It's not going to be the same for 18 gauge steel or whatever you were welding...
