The Jalopy Journal
To answer your questions, yes I did a search. Before I sift through every single post to find one that someone possibly put the contact info in,...
Jim....unfortunately our Cleveland chapter (of the rumblers) is having their first annual show that day so I won't be able to make the drags this...
Is like to get to the hamb drags. That's at beaver springs, right? What day is it?
Hey Jim. Thanks for the concern. We survived the flood. My shop is on very high ground so the cars were safe. My grandparents were the only ones...
It's been a long time so I figured I would say hi to everyone and let you all know that I'm still alive and (somewhat) enjoying my 53 Club Coupe....
Now....on to the latest chapter in this saga. So, I tried getting the car running for the show in CT this weekend and had no luck. From what we...
Ok, to answer a bunch of questions: Carenut: I didn't necessarily "need" to go with an electronic conversion in my distributor. I just figured...
It appears that my pertonix is having some issues. I sent my distributor out to Linders to have it rebuilt and have the pertronix kit installed....
Provided my carb stops acting up, I'm making the 4 hour trip to support your show. I'm all about good traditional shows that stick to a solid set...
Thanks for all the info guys. I am going to see about getting it rebuilt locally today and if that doesn't work out I'll be calling one of these...
Found a local rebuilder. Gonna call him tomorrow.
That is a bargain. I would totally rather have an old guy take his time and rebuild it the right way as opposed to one that was rebuilt by a kid...
Well, Macs sells a 6v starter but I don't see a 12 volt one on their site. It's not for a Y-block. The car has the original 215 inline 6 cylinder.
Oh yeah, it's a 6 cylinder starter. Is there a difference between that and the flathead starter?
So I'm thinking that the last years worth of 12 volts through my original 6 volt starter has finally killed it. So my question: Should I buy a...
Best of luck Jim. Thanks for reminding me about the Ford show. I need to run out and get a few odds and ends for my car. I'm only about 2 hours...
Oh, and I agree with Jeff. Big thumbs up for GMCBubba (Linder's Technical Service). He did a great job with my distributor for a very fair price.
Stew....what Lincoln motor were you talking about? I was referring to my Ford Inline 6 with my post about the Clifford parts. The inline 6 is...
I went to my local auto parts store and bought a universal B-Cool or Bee-Cool (one or the other). It was something like $160 - $180. I had two...
Good luck with the sale. I have a stock exhaust manifold that was blasted and coated with por-15's header coating. If you find a buyer and they...
Cool. Thanks Jeff, ill do that.
Steel as in Steele Rubber Products?
You know I'll be there buddy. Can't wait. See you in August? RFFR! Nathan
If so, where did you get it. I got the beltline weatherstrip kit from Mac's but no one sells the door glass run channel weatherstrip for my club...
All right....i'm on my way to bed so I didn't read through all the other posts. I have the original 215 in my 53. I did 223 pistons with...
Oh....when I looked, we couldn't tell if there was a frame underneath it but there might be. Pasadena - as far as the buick goes, that's last...
Well, I'm going to call him today or tomorrow and see about going up to start digging it out. I'll keep my fingers crossed and see if he goes for...
Yeah, I know everything has value. The headlight buckets on the truck are completely rotted through. The truck really looks 100 times better in...
I would only scrap the frame of the big truck as a last ditch effort. I don't scrap anything as is evident in the parking lot at my shop. It's...
I thought about that too Temper. I was going to offer him $500 for the pair and see what he said. I figured I could pull the grille, motor and...
