The Jalopy Journal
I'm just up the road from the fairgrounds in Baldwinsville, but did not attend. I haven't for a number of years usually due to previous...
Sounds great!
@anthony myrick, are there any updates on this? I'd love to see a pic of the truck all cleaned up.
Those pre tri-five Chevys like 48-54 (especially 4 doors) can be found for low dollars. You can pick up a clean running, driving car and have...
[IMG] [IMG] Here is my 1951 pickup which I purchased in 2012, and after 5 yrs of working on it, got it on the road in 2017. Upgraded with a T5...

Another great update! I use the same "tree method" for breaking branches down at the fire pit, and I just used it to bend the rebar for the footer...
This is still my favorite thread on the HAMB. I like to hear your thoughts as you work through the build and solve issues.
Looks like a great ride - I'd drive it. :p Thanks for posting this.
I also joined about 15 years ago. It's certainly been one of my favorite pastimes, to say the least. Cool place to hangout!

The Durant could be it. Visor and headlights are dead on, bumper looks right, hinges same location, badges look right. Here is another picture...
Anyone else with an idea? I've been surfing pictures on the net and still can't make a positive ID.
I think the upper hinge on the door of the Chevy is higher than the one in the picture. Closer to the Nash or Desoto or Erskine.
Dang, that could be it. I was looking at only pre 1930...
Yes, the Erskine is very close...
My friend thought maybe it might be a Studebaker, but I'm not seeing one with a curved headlight bar... The emblem at the bottom center should be...
A friend of mine sent me this photo in hopes that I could identify the car in this photo. It is a picture of their grandmother taken in 1930 in...
Very cool - that thing looks very solid! Happy for you.
