my 63 chevy has a new 350 with vortech heads,running a 180 t stat with aluminum radiator and electric fanstemp gauge gets up to 230 but a heat gun...
63 is coil springs front and rear...62 and down has the torsion bars
definatly an airflow issue...had the same problem on my 283 witha manual flex fan and shroud...switched to a electric fan and solved it...electric...
what do you wanna know?im a mechanic for a living been doin it since i was a kid..kinda got out of hotrods for a while til i had my son..terrified...
my 283 is 60 over with a 4 speed and 373s runs about 3200rpm at 70 mph...i have a heavy foot so evrywhere else she is screamin....these motors...
doors and windshield different,,,so is dash,but 63 and up have the same suspension...63 has a different grill than 64-66...i like the 63s better...
