Wow! Yeah that explains why it feels sluggish. They had 5.38 gears stock so it's gonna struggle with 3.50 gears and those tall tires.
What rear end do you have in it, what ratio? A healthy 250 should move it along nicely. A 1966-1970 250 is rated at 155 hp @ 4200 rpm & 235 lb⋅ft...
