Got my car done in time, but my body is letting me down. Too many hours in a short period of time. If the muscle spasms stop, I will still try...
I am no expert, this is my observation. I have a fresh 283 in my car that have having oil burning issues. One of the diagnostic things we tried...
I got it back together and had to pull it apart again after a run around the neighborhood. I might unfortunately end up as a spectator. I have...
It is out now, I will put it back together with the used Merc pressure plate.
I figured out my problem, I phoned Fort Wayne Clutch. They are excellent! I found out that the new pressure plate that was sold to me by someone...
I am afraid that the plate is the problem. I was able to drive mine, but it is definitely not right. The clutch disk worked with the original...
The 32 set up only has an adjuster from the pedal arm to the clutch arm on the transmission.
Any ideas?
I have a 283 to 1932 Ford 3 speed. I just installed a new transmission and switched out the Mercury pressure plate to a new one from Fort Wayne....
You could also use lever shocks. I used mg levers, they seem to work well. You don’t have to cut off the rears for juice brakes, it all clears.
[ATTACH] I made it 150 miles. Having transmission and engine issues. Hope to get it back together and be there.
I think the 1256 is for stock ports? I am running an oil fill on the front and the rear of the block has a pcv plumbed to the front of the...
I do have that book, I can’t remember what I used as a torque value. 30-35 with aluminum intakes as well? I wonder if this was the issue for me...
The 90 minute right stuff only comes in the small tube- 1 or 2 to get the job done? Is black or grey better?
I am speculating that the right stuff 1 minute set up enough that it held the intake so it didn’t torque down totally.
I failed at my fist attempt. I had a large internal oil leak to the ports. Engine is a 1957 283 with early 1959 Corvette heads. This time I am...
I am dealing with the same issue on my fresh 283. Can also be oil through the PCV or an internal intake leak caused by gasket or the wrong angle...
The 16x5 are getting harder to come by. I have a really nice pair on my car, but one of them has a wobble. I was going to fix my spare so I...
Thank you
Thank you, The rim was to go in Thursday to get trued up. Do I need to weld before?
[ATTACH] This is rust on a Mercury 16x5. Is this repairable? Tig weld up the low spot? It is very deep. Strange place to rust. Thanks
Pending payment
I ran the battery wire to one side and the other triggers a 75 amp Bosch relay that when triggered powers the fuse box. I did this to keep the...
Check everything, something doesn’t seem right.
Is that the original box for the airguide tach? I have one that I have built into my panel, just not sure how to wire it.
[ATTACH] There is a video on YouTube that shows how to clean the outside of the block with acetone and use a map gas torch to get the oil out of...
Thank you guys! I want a built in 1959 look to the interior. It is definitely hard to find a good close up picture of that area finished.
Thank you. I have mocked it up and only have room for 2” of foam on the top back of the seat, around 3.5” in the lumbar. I plan to use webbing...
Does anyone have some pictures of it done right? Thanks
