The Jalopy Journal
Early 70's Torino/Ranchero 9" has a 63" track width and fit perfect in my '46 Cadillac. Since your Roadmaster is also a C-Body, it should work....
'46 Cadillac with '65 tilt/tele. Don't plan on anyone else driving it, but nice to have the tele adjustment.
Nice project. The full size fat fendered cars are great. Keep it updated.
Although I went with a 390 in my '46, the '47 348 is supposed to be a good motor. In a light car, it should go really great. Due to the fact the...
The crazy comment comes from having to ignore pretty much everybody who saw the parts and pieces as I collected them over the past 4 years. The...
Great build. Subscribed. My next one is a '51 Super.
A little perspective. First picture was taken in mid-January. Second picture was taken today. Maybe I'm not so crazy after all.
Next steps, sandblasting, body and paint. Original thought was a flat black, but a big Caddy needs some color. So, will probably go with a 2005...
'70 to '81 Camaro/Firebird subframe works nicely too. This a '46, but the width is similar to the '48.
Great build. Coming together nicely.
Great trade. Have fun.
Yes, I've used an Impala 12 bolt before. Good rear. Decided to use a 9 inch on this one. Car looks even better with the hood set on it.
Hood fits.
Not a lot of progress, but some is better than none. Front clip mounting is now set up. Next, the front bumper and rear end.
Think Mr. Goodwrench would be disappointed? Mid 70's Ranchero rear. Has the same tread width as the '46 Caddy. (63" or so, pretty wide.)
Located a set of '64 full size Pontiac buckets. Now have to figure out rear seat/armrest covers. Have the original, but really rusty just like...
Hadn't thought of the Mercedes. I'll do some looking. I do like the chrome hardware look. Thanks. Guess the 61 - 64 full size...
Great find. Keep the updates coming.
A 98 should work. Boomosby did a thread on the conversion of a 4 door caddy to convertible caddy a while back. Lots of good information and...
Starting to look like a car again.
Would love to skip the platicy looking sides of the seats, but at 6'3" and 295 on a good day, many of the older seats are simply uncomfortable on...
Getting closer and lots of room.
Mine is a 65/66. I've seen 63/64 tilt columns, but don't know if telescopic was availble in those years. The 67 went to the style that stayed...
An arm and a leg. Just kidding. Caddy parts don't have the same kind of market as Chevy and Ford parts do. You can guess pretty close on the...
Mock up of seat and steering column. Thinking about the second picture as the theme for the interior. Seat is out a 1995 Buick Regal, but should...
Plan to keep it going until I'm done. Boomosby, as you found in your 59 conversion thread, these threads are great for ideas and input. Hey, if...
Yeah, looks like the hood did a number on the cowl. Hope the car came with a replacement. I bought my series 60 pretty much for the front clip....
Great project. Gonna be a fun ride. Looks like your hood hinge mounting holes are identical to the ones we had to drill in the Buick body.
Didn't really forget about the 60. Sort of was thinking about it as a variation on the Series 62, basically a longer Series 62. I'm using the...
drptop70ss: Thanks for the pic. Found it. Jason: I'll check to see what I have and PM you. Be careful on purchases on the 47. Cadillac had...
