Optimal lifter premoad should be around 0.60....but if u end up with 0.040 and there is no clacking....u are fine....less than 0.040 and u should...
Lots of BS being posted. Dont worry about quench in your application and the thicker head gasket wont really affect it that much slap it together...

Here is the first patch section already grafted on the roof....oxi acetilene wire welding....some hammer and dolly work too....
lets store the front clip along with some other iron that will keep good company.....the cuda is a 71 340 4 speed shaker car...will work on it...
some english wheeled patches.....and then some slits.....and oxi acetilene welding with wire....
the roof looks like a sieve, it will require extensive patchwork....more like fabbing all the rood again out of flat stock sheetmetal.......
We got some replacement boxed longitudinal frame rails and we will reuse all of the original crossmembers and modify em as needed so we can fit...
The rockers were gone so the rear of the car came off too....
The roof had to come off....it will be easier to do all the extensive fab work it needs that way...the a pillars were rotted out anyway....
