I think alot had to do with the fact that Ford was all new in 57 and Chevy was on it's third year using the same body and chassis.
Don't you think it's a little unfair comparing a shiny decked out Fairlane convertible to a lowly unwashed, never seen a can of wax in it's life...
As much as I love oval track racing, that photo makes me sick. Thank God most tracks did not allow fiberglass bodies back in the day.
They used six lug hubs on Chevrolets in 56 for sure, maybe in 55 as well. The way I understand it, the six lug parts were sold over the counter...
If I'm not mistaken, that car was red and white not blue and white. Just to be historically accurate, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
