With three stake pockets in the bed rails, that 63 is not a shortbed.
I have had a lot of wheels drilled for slicks & never had one leak air. Are you sure those holes are where you are losing the air?
I would be interested in trading you for a nice rolling chassis with a flathead. That would save you a lot of work and get you on the road...
