yes , my grandpa bought it new, so I don't want to modify it to much, i'm also using a automatic trans

ok , I laid my manifold flat{took it off }it measures 4 3/4 inchs at the highest spot
oh ,thankyou so much , I think it helped ,my manifold has part no 1383648 and that makes it a 68 -430 manifold ,but for some reason mine sticks...
that's just what I thought , it would be so much simpiler this way

yes, and its a way better looking engine than the Pontiac I was going to use
that's kind of the way I looked at it ,passenger side exhaust manifold will be the worse
