or instead of shortening the the input shaft make a spacer to go between the box and bellhousing....super simple

66/67 falcon/ fairlane they are a standard fitment to these cars which came with v8 ,c4 auto and usually these combo's were 2.92 which will suit...

i believe the fmx conversion is done using a mix of fmx and fordomatic parts.....i have a fordomatic in my vicky and had it rebuilt by an old auto...
starting with a near complete car certainly makes your job a lot easier....that a really great find and i'm sure you will have a lot of fun with...
