I'm a GM guy also, Chevy, Pontiac. But I also have 2 460 Fords under the bench, for future projects if they ever happen. 460 is such a better...

Used several rear ends from them, no problems at all.
O/P you will be fine with what you have and want to do. If you ever plan on making any real hp or drag racing get a real rear end.
