I couldn't get the special tool to work on mine either. Probably because I bought a crappy tool from Advance auto parts. I usually just take a...
I actually managed to somehow break the side glass (the one which rolls up and down) trying to get the vent window frame in place. Don't ask how,...
Ok sounds like more of a project than I'm going to take on at the moment. I tried tightening that nut with the spring but it didn't seem to help....
Hey folks, when I drive my '54 the vent windows tend to blow shut from the wind. This is really inconvenient because I use them to keep the...
Nice coupe, I'd be interested to see how that roof turns out with the beadrolled panel you have sitting up there. That could be a cool look.
I've been hoping to see your car in the mag for a while now, It's definitely one of my personal favorite hot rods. Can't wait to get my issue!
I'm 27 but I joined the HAMB when I was 16. Not sure if I still qualify as "young" guy anymore haha. I don't get on here a whole lot anymore. My...
I had a hell of a time finding the fittings for mine. I ended up having to order them from speedway motors. The ones at the local hardware stores...
Thanks Jeff that's helpful, I was wondering what was up with that weird spacer. I thought buying a new MC would be better than a remanufactured...
After looking around online a bit I'm starting to think maybe someone put the wrong pushrod in my car. If you look at the pictures, the one that...
It seems like the pushrod is too short, but it's the same pushrod that worked fine on the old one. I'm tempted to try a longer pushrod but I've...
Phaeton did yours look like the one in my picture and did it have a rubber spacer in between the pushrod and the MC?
[ATTACH] [ATTACH] Ok the pictures posted all weird, but I am having some issues with my master cylinder swap, even after reading the various...
Cool car, I have a 54 mainline sedan. Check out the 52-59 ford social group. There's tons of good info on there.
That's a great looking car! Welcome back
I recently changed it out on my '54. Had the same symptoms as yours. It was definitely a pain in the ass. I'm not sure I could even see it, I just...
Thanks for the help guys I picked up the mechanical switch shown in the above photo today at Autozone and started working on making the bracket....
I have that switch and the tee fitting to install it but I read a bunch of stories from people saying that theirs went bad or the brake lights...
Thanks for the help guys! I think I'll be able to make something work now. Welderdave, I think that style of switch is designed for older,...
Paul, that's a smart idea there I like it. Is that switch out of a particular vehicle or is it just a generic one? Also, most of the switches I'm...
Hey guys I'm working on my dual MC swap and I am considering switching over to a mechanical brake light switch instead of the pressure activated...
I work on modern cars for a living, I've seen this on a car with a bad brake booster if I'm remembering correctly. However , sometimes modern...
Thanks carnut and Dobie. I have the lug soaking in some rust penetrant lube Right now and hopefully I'll get it up to work this week and press...
Ok that's what I was hoping. So there isn't anything on the front side of the stud that holds it there? I just want to make sure there's nothing I...
Hey guys I've always had a broken wheel stud since I bought the car and I figure it's about time to fix it. I pulled the drum off today and looked...
Yeah, The master cylinder from a 67 mustang with manual drum/drum brakes is pretty much bolt on. All you need to do is change a few lines out....
I would leave it alone. Mine has red wheels and I'm not crazy about it.
Make sure your master cylinder is operating properly. The originals are single-piston. When mine went out it was pretty scary.
@Kerry are you sure it's the box that is bad? I'm not doubting you but I just wanted to add a personal experience here that might be helpful. I...
That is a bitchin' car. Looks like you're off to a great start.
