On a Pontiac I'm running 3x2 on i couldn't fit an HEI in there i got a conversion kit and installed it in the original Points distributor . better...
I have that same transfer on a old paper towel dispenser . My father put it on there in the late 50's i think still in my garage
or possibly worn bushing in the housing where the shaft runs . it would be an easy check and fix

Every car has its own problems when it comes to chopping them , cut a little at first alot easer to cut of more than to weld more back on
How about drilling into the top surface and installing a eye hook

I made a pair of lenses for my 53 using the same Olds lenses . I ground down the edge of the Olds lens till it fit snuggly into the stock Ford...
