I drove a airvair for a daily driver for many years. I would go with the 65 and newer model, they are much better drivers.

I have a good friend that was racing in the Hemi Challenge series. He said they were running Honda rod journal size in the 426.
We ran a bunch of the 350 Chevy cranks offset ground and used small journal 327 rods in the sprint car.
Mile High Cranks can nitride the crank after turning down the mains. That is what I will have done.

The one advantage of offset grind with a smaller rod bearing makes for slower bearing speed.
They were tight in the front when service was needed on that end. They always seeped oil, a flat rate mechanics nightmare.
