Oops, been building new cars a lot longer than old cars.
That fully depends on the draw by the amp, I have built systems using 175 watt amps and 8 gage wire and 2500 watt systems using 0/2 gage wire
I wanted to go manual in my Durant, but prices around here are stupid. A factory T5 runs $1200 Canadian, most are more and still need rebuilds
Still around, just not working on the car. I ended up tearing a bicep tendon and had surgery 2 weeks ago. But I am stockpiling parts for another...
Had a few ideas of what I wanted to see, so I worked afternoons, bed at 2:30, and up working at 8 am. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
Finally had time to get back to the car, had to lay flooring through 3 rooms on top of working overtime at work. Used the old cam for a spreader...
Finished up the top half of the firewall today, went back and changed the drivers side to a round top instead of square corner. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]...
Got more done today and started fitting the firewall. I tacked the stock piece on 1/4” steel rods so I could build without the motor in the way....
I am still around, messed up my shoulder so process has been slower than I wanted. The cold doesn’t help either. But I got the passenger side...
So I found numbers on the stock cam in my ‘64 327. 250hp, 300hp 32:30 87:30 300 (118) .398" 74:30 45:30 300 (76) .398" (138) 78 I have no idea...
[ATTACH] I got lucky and had a decent day outside. Spent the morning scraping and degreasing then got outside with the power washer before...
These things were extremely high on the frame. The way it is now is with a 4” channel. I can’t go lower comfortably as the po did a 6” chop on it.
[ATTACH] Ran when pulled, smoked a bit of oil. That was 40 years ago though.
Yes it was in Amherstburg this time around. It started in Windsor and moved to a few different owners, everyone just stripped parts off and sold it.
I got one and it is not smooth in any way possible. I’m looking to replace it and have never driven a project with it installed.
Speedway had the bolt thru 4”drop steering arms for a decent price....
Well thank you Fabber, I do pride myself very much in my work
I do have the original grille and grille emblem for it.
[ATTACH] Got the Durant rolled outside for a distance shot and engine cleaning. I haven’t seen this yet with all the panels attached.
it is quite long still, probably going to take a second look when the body is closer to finished and see if the frame needs to be shortened to be...
After dealing with a sick wife for a few weeks and crazy overtime at work, I finally had a bit of time to get outside and work. I got the drivers...
I only do mig right now, argon is way too expensive for how much I would use a tig at home. But I try to leave a cutoff wheel size gap for mig...
I had honestly never even heard of Durant before I bought this. I think I like the history of parts and companies just as much as building the cars.
Thanks, Santa Cruz skateboards released those a few years ago
It is an I beam from Speedway, 4” drop. I have F1 or F100 spindles just thrown on for now so I have a roller.
This is the kind of build I needed to do, something that I can jump around and not just tack weld sheet metal for months on end.
Got the motor and transmission mounted so I can do the body floor and attach the sheet metal to that. It’s a 1964 327 with a 700R4 behind it....
So is it worth it to rebuild Stromberg 48s myself or have them sent out to someone with proper tools? I picked up 2 yesterday and want to set...
Stretched the rear windows with the leftovers of the deleted doors. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
I tied the cab floor into the back of the sedan [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
