Most 58 pass car heads did not have provision for spark plug cooling so the coolant passages in your block would allow all the coolant to leak...
What are the last 3 or 4 digits of the casting numbers? There isn't much difference in pass or truck heads that both have 1.94 intake valves...

The one I had for my 409 also had an under dash mounted switch that by-passed the resistor for more voltage on demand.
