here's what i did with mine.[ATTACH]
reversed eyes= 1" drop, stock '32-'36 axle =11/4" drop. and a 289 doesn't weigh much more than the 4-banger, so the spring only needs 6 or 7 leaves!
how about '49-'53 chevy pass. car wheel centers? 5 lug & 43/4" b.c.

'42-'48 have panhard bars, '41's do not.
'41 merc. & some '49-'64 pick up wheels are 16" x 5" with 3.75 backspace. [ they all take the same hub cap.]

i have done this on a couple of cars. used f-100 hoses with brass adapters from the parts store. easy and cheap! just take hose and tee fitting...
would '42-'48 front wishbones give enough clearance?
stock headlights would be correct for a pre-war hot rod, yes?
shackles angle outward on '42-'48's, because they have panhard bars to control side-sway.
