The Jalopy Journal
Too bad it's an auto. The manuals are a lot of fun. Corvairs are easy to work on, and there are some good, easy-to-read manuals out there
1964. Last year for the early body design
Hire someone to drop it off. There are plenty of transporters on the HAMB, plus people local to you. Yes, it will cost, but it will be a drop in...
Since you're in Frederick, expand your search to PA, VA and WV, all of which are close to you
A little racing inspiration... [ATTACH][ATTACH]
I love old Volvos. I had a 122s that I drove from San Diego to Chicago. It was my daily driver in the 90s. Tom Waits had a 544 and described it as...
My old car!
I probably shouldn't be, given that I've never attempted anything like this before! I'm very interested in the outcome as well!
That is in final assembly at RetroPower in the UK (great builds on YouTube!). They also built a cool green Mk2 which they kept as a 4-door and...
This one has a slight rear chop, but unchanged front. I don't know how far they extended the door. [ATTACH]
Thanks. Part of the C-pillar differences in the Photoshop vs. my Mk2 (other than the chop) is that James used a Mk1 rear window, which is smaller...
Finally getting some more work done. Fixed a rust spot in the "frame" (and found another), and mocked up the pillar in its new location. This...
My friend is dropping a Renault Dauphine onto a Bug pan and is using a 1776 engine. [ATTACH]
I did a Google image search (right click) and an older, more complete image came up, with details, from a HAMBer in CT....
So, there's an answer for how, but what about "why"? At least in the USA, seat belts have been mandatory in new cars for 56 years. Who really...
Geez. That's about what I paid for mine over 20 years ago... and about what I sold it for several years later. At least they hold their value! :D
Who cares if it matters to other people? It matters to you! If you're only driving it to get admiration from others, you're doing it wrong.
I'll add that I checked with several guys in the HAMB-O-Dex but none were available within 6 months or operated where I need them. Always a good...
I sold a running car (1959 Chevy) to a guy in IA and he use Montway. I shipped a non-running car (Jaguar sedan) from TX to VA using Montway. Each...
That's clever!
I installed a 15 gallon '65 Mustang tank in a '51 Chevy. Cheap new. Also comes in a 20 gallon version from, I think, a '70 Mustang. Cut a hole in...
How do you know?
"chokes up when I try and give it some gas" doesn't sound like bad gas to me. Floats? Accelerator pump? Timing? Fresh fuel wouldn't hurt, but I...
This is the "off-topic" section. What kind of vehicle? You can speak the forbidden words! What are the symptoms?
Like Russco said. Saltworks. Run by a HAMBer, or at least he used to be on the HAMB. Good guy. Has a YouTube channel for the shop
Absolutely. I always use "photo-manipulation" and "AI" where appropriate. They are not interchangeable terms.
I think "AI" is becoming a blanket term for photo-manipulation, like "Photoshop" (even though there are many types of software that can do that)....
That's a great cocktail table! Here's one I built a few years ago from some Mack parts. [ATTACH]
Freeze plugs or core plug
What's missing on your Morris? Everything on Morris were small and thin, so that could be part of the E-brake.
