I don't know about 55 56 but on 52 54 there is a bolt that you have to get at from an access hole in the door jam.
They look to me like they are from an old J C WHITNEY catalog.
58 Fords had air suspension as an option.
52 and 53 are the same except around the grill area. 54 should work also if you are using just the rear area.

If you want them to fit correctly you can figure a few hours labor and you will at least need a router to do the job.

Cut the glass first. You can make the metal fit the glass but you cant bend the glass to fit the metal.

I don't think it is a hardtop. The chrome around the windows is to wide. It looks to me like a two door sedan.
