Here is my son's '51 Plymouth: [ATTACH]
Monroe lists its #5752 shocks for the front and its #31000 shocks for the rear. Those probably are equivalent to the OEM shocks, but you might...
PS - Since you are new to these cars ... you do know the left lug bolts have left-hand threads, right?
Yes, it is backwards from what you have done with negative-ground systems. So the hot wire to each component will be negative and the ground side...
Wow! That is in great condition. I would not change anything.
Some years ago I had a ’40 Ford that had been hot-rodded in the ‘50s and had a de-arched spring in front and long shackles in back. It actually...

The problem is inside your speedometer. You must open it up to diagnose and fix it. Don’t worry; speedometers are not as complicated as you think....
And don’t feel bad. I have seen mismatched balancers on SBCs many times. There are so many different but interchangeable SBC parts that you are...
That is the advantage of trading. Each side can get around the obstacle of their own fantasy price without losing face.
The higher price looks more typical for a complete master cylinder. Is the Cardone part a closeout? I did once encounter a misidentified Cardone...
They did change from the rope seal to the neoprene seal in 1953; and Andy Bernbaum does list those. I have only worked on the older type but the...
Brazing is a sort of old school solution for this ... good for lots of other things, of course ... and the old rule that cast iron cannot be...
Yes. With your negative-ground system that is right. ... Someone already suggested the coil could be defective; I have encountered defective...

I believe it goes the other way.
Double check that the wires into and out of the coil are not reversed. That is easy to do, especially if they are marked + and - instead of BAT...
A good welder can fix a cracked exhaust manifold, your father's experience notwithstanding. I am not a good welder but even I have welded several...
The same thing happened to me back in the '70s the last time R&C went out of business. I wrote a letter, too. It made no difference, of course,...
1. The easiest thing to fix would be a backwards distributor. Its drive is flat and fits into a slot (down inside the engine). When it is removed,...
Since the transmission crossmember has already been cut, does it already have modified engine mounts, too? If so, that might give you an idea...
Plymouths like yours have a lot of potential. They were largely overlooked in the past but are becoming more popular. Search this website and you...
The last roadster was a Dodge Wayfarer, but I don't know if it had a rumble seat.
I avoid other people as much as possible.
Do you have a first or second series '49 Plymouth? The former looks like '46-48 Plymouths and the latter looks like '50-52 Plymouths, sort of....
Very cool photos. Thanks.
Wilkommen. Grüß Gott. Ich habe einmal in Osterreich waren. Es ist eine schöne land. Aber gibt es hot rods dort?
