Unluckily just idle.
I have to take my time tomorrow and just keep trying different combinations of timing and mixtures. I did go to a autoshop earlier and they...
It´s starting to sink in :p Vacuum takes care of needed advance on low rpm when engine still is able to create vacuum and when rpm increases and...
It´s up there on the original carb, where it´s supposed to be on these Blueflames. Also, when I unplugged it from the carb and sucked it, it moves...
What does "clocking the rope seal" mean? Sorry, english isn´t my strong point.
Agreed, the placement of the bb and pointer are plain stupid. Anyway, I do have a timing light and I´ve used it on many cars and occasions with...
I agree about the octane selector, it´s there just to ease minor adjustments By the owner/mechanic. Still I can´t seem to figure out why there is...
Actually there is three on these engines. Normal vacuum, mechanical + octane selector. Still, that doesn´t explain the turning on my dizzy. Here´s...
Should revving advance the spark time not retard it? Let´s say constant 1500rpm and the advance should be there with vacuum (not weight/springs)?
Ok, thanks. Maybe you can help me with this other problem too. Why does the dizzy move clockwise while revving? Oh, I may just have found the...
Yes, that I found out searching the net. Hopefully better mileage and a bit more torque. Shall I do something different doing a tune up....
What´s wrong here? Been driving this car for a few days not being satisfied how it runs and decided to do something about it. It´s a -54 235 with...
I just realised (after checking the cast numbers) that my -54 Chevy has a -56 or later head (cast 3836848). How is it different to earlier head?

I agree, weathered would be more accurate. Patina just sounds cooler, doesn´t it?
You mean Pledge worked on the white marks or Pledge worked on the coating of the paint?
Which Penetrol product you mean? Seems that there are many. Here in Finland we don't have Penetrol but maybe I can find something else that is...
Man, you are demanding! :D I'm on my phone now so no pics available until tomorrow. Sorry! Also I quess I will disappoint u all, 'cause I know...
Really interesting. One reason why I don´t want to go with clear coating is that then I need to mask a lot not to let the spray get to wrong...
Looks good! Pretty much thinned clear coat. At least it dries fast, right.
Really? That´s some tough mixture. Won´t that acetone soften the paint too much? How much acetone (%) do you add on the linseed oil?
Only reason for coating is to keep it look the same, wet or dry. Tha patina / paint is so dull / matt that when it gets wet it gets much darker....
Yes, that is familiar topic. In this case I don´t want it to be shiny at all, just want to keep it as is as much as possible.
Like said, want to keep what´s left of the old paint but needs some protection, right? Matt clear coat is the easy answer (?) but what else? I´ve...
I have an old Fiat fridge (yes, really FIAT) from the 60´s and it has a nice handle all ready.
Ok, thanks. I have no real use for it, so maybe I´ll make garage doorhandle out of it.
Chevy, obviously but year & model?[ATTACH]
Can´t do it now, different location. I have the shop manual but there was no pictures (nor much anything else) of the heater / controls / cables....
When I got my Chevy it was partly teared down, as was the heater. Can anyone show me a picture how it is supposed to look like when put together....
Good point about the line up. I quess I go one part at a time.
