That happened to me once. One of my rocker arms was adjusted too tight not letting the valve close completely.
6 gallon boat tanks are available at some wal-marts. Pretty inexpensive. They should also have the fuel line to go with it.
I'm working on a 53 Champ 6. I got the finned aluminum head from Cathcart, looks great. I got an Offy 2 carb intake from Egge.
