Well I have a newely rebuilt starter. Gonna try to swap with the correct one. Is the gear different between the two? Or just the bolt pattern?

the one i have measures 29mm or 1.156in across.. Is it possible to sawp for the smaller diameter?
starter is a 12 volt, has it stamped on it.. bolts up fine just completely wrong mesh.. the starter has 9 teeth on the gear.. seems like it...
you need special tools to pull those arms and not ruin the inner pin/ adjuster and spring. fie points can do it for you, and they may have some...
