6.00's are a good choice- I think they look more like a tire a hot rodder would've ran back in the day- 5.50 and 4.75/50's look good but they don't look "littlebooks" good.

I'm running a 6.00 on the front of my pickup-

5.50s on the roadster although that's a 60's era build.

I want to get the rear about 2" lower so I was thinking a reverse eye t spring would be good for one of those inches. However they only offer to 1925 rear springs... What's the difference from them and 26/27's? How can I tell what I have?

  3. Looking great JJ.

As far as getting 2 inches lower in back, throw in a 1/2 of tank of gas and a battery in the trunk and you may be closer than you think already.

I love where your going with this thing!

Thanks Dave, I appreciate it! Tank of gas might be next to me on passenger side though but I guess I could add a tank out back for ballast! ;)

But yeah you're right the final form will have gas tank right up against tail pan. I bet that has it sit a little closer to where I want it.

Just my thoughts here, but yes, the back needs to come down a little... ALTHOUGH that will take away from the excellent rake the car has now.

Again, just my opinion but if you bring the back down I think you'll need another inch of drop up front, either by axle or by a smaller tire, to keep that nasty attitude it has now.

@daddio211 I agree with that. The front really can't come down any more without flattening crossmember. I think I could get away with an inch and still have a nice rake but you're right I gotta keep as much as I can especially when I see this car being FINISHED as an early 50's drag coupe. Those wires will give way to Steelies, the paint will eventually be shiny etc. I think of Everette Isrealson's Sparks & Bonney 33 for inspiration.

If the front can't come down without major surgery and you're wanting to keep the front tire size I'd personally leave the back alone. Like Daddy_O's said, the battery and fuel will bring it down some, as will a few people.

As many chopped 34 3W's I have seen, every one has it's own personality. I really like yours.

Thank you all so much again!

Worked on the top all day yesterday. Got the inner structure cut so the a pillars can kick out. Really takes away from the rigidity of the roof. Think is like a noodle now!!! I also worked on the B pillar posts because they are now steel from floor up. I ended up having to tweak them and reweld some ares which wasn't a big deal but necessary.

The "A" pillar sheet metal wants to disintegrate when I even look at it with a welder so that will need to be reskinned at some point.

Yanking the temporary engine today and sending it off to get freshened up.

It's been a few weeks since I've been on the HAMB. Well long story short I decided to thrash for 6 weeks and thru my '33 together for Race of Gentlemen and actually made it!!! Plans are to run it again this year one more time before blowing it a part for a nice final build. Couldn't have done it without the help of friends and family. Was so much fun!!!

Thanks!!! @brady1929 yeah I wouldn't mind it but the top isn't finish welded and there's some shitty work I'd like to repair plus I want a built flathead. This one that was in there ran pretty good but it's just a stocker '37 221.

Interior is setup for race right now as well....[IMG]

Hey man good meeting you guys!!! Glad yall got back safe. Now get that Sedan done!!!

  22. Slight change in plans...27 T roadster on 32 frame with a built 36 flattie. After being at ROG I gotta so that. The sedan will be done hopefully shortly after ROG next year.
