Are you going to have any headroom once you hammer it further? :)

Plenty! These 3w's are surprisingly roomy inside. If I put the seat back I can't reach the pedals. But yeah right now I have an atmosphere aboveme. With another 2" taken out of the back it'll be a little more cozy but not cramped. I'm really only doing to keep fat heads like Chris Swenson from buying it. :D

If it gets down to it you can borrow a set of my 34 pedals and just replace em when you find some.

Thanks ***us! I am actually talking to a guy on FORDBARN who has a restored set with the correct linkage for juice brakes. They are a little spendy but hopefully they'll need nothing and I'll be a few steps ahead. Just need to sell some **** to pay for them!

It only appear sanitary because the black and white pics don't allow for the brown color of filth and rust to show up. :D Thanks so much for the kind words.

I only said that AFTER I confirmed with Chris that he didn't have anything I could use currently....or at least his stuff was too nice to use on this thing. :D

    Thanks again!!!

My tracking number says that my T Spring and a stock '33 front Wishbone should be here tomorrow from my buddy Jordan. We traded wishbones a year or two ago and I didn't need it until now. The T Spring he donated to the build out of being a good friend. Awesome!!! Now I can start getting the rear fitted in the car.

Seriously, anybody know how much of a model a rear crossmember was spliced in on the Pierson coupe? Kind of a random question I know.....

And yet again, you'll probably have another car on the road before I will... even with 17 kids to babysit, 49 design jobs, and a lawn to manicure twice a day...

Bring that hood side over. I'll work on it for ya', bub.

Nah, but only because you used the key word which is road. I'm not driving this this on the road with no front brake and a gas jug right next to me!!! ;) I think the Murray will be on the road soon with all the progress you're making on the garage!

Ahh, nothing Hemi. Dumped all that long ago. I might still have a power steering pump generator though which should compliment the disk brakes nicely on your Vicky! ;) Actually I'm running out of things to sell. I might start having more babies to sell to Bangladesh to put them in the work force.

I'll go thru stuff this weekend. Probably some Strombergs, 265 stuff, and some Sugar City merch.

  16. JJ,

When you get around to needing those other wheels, get in touch with me. I have beeen buying and last week I looked at the very large pile I have ac***ulated and I have come to the realization I can't use them all. I need to start selling some I guess. I have 4's, 4.5's, and a few 5's laying around.

My car isn't channeled. It's at stock placement and yes you're right the X member on the Pierson Coupe was removed so that driver could sit down in the ch***is. THey boxed the rails (center portion) after heading out to the drylakes for the first time and noticing some flex in the ch***is over the bumpy terrain.

I should hope your brakes outperform my old '40 drums other wise why else would you run the risk of humiliation from your peers? And while we're at it, I bet that big old hemi would kill my 0-60 time too. But therein lies the beauty of it all. I'm slow to go and slow to stop right which kinda makes sense!

This whole rear cross member things is kinda making less and less sense now in terms of folllowing what Pierson Bros did. Because they're car was channeled it already is going to sit down further then mine would with the same amount of "flattening". So I guess I'm going to measure it out so that I get 4-5" of flattening and splice it in. Or maybe I might wait to get the front done and then measure it out from there.

This makes sense if you already know exactly what you are going to do up front.

Glad to see you working on this, though I was kinda hoping that Phaeton would be next.:D

Phaeton is coming next. I would have started on it had I had all the piece or at least as many and I did for the '33. There are some big ticket items that's going to take me a little bit to save for on that car including the firewall, grille shelll and insert, columbia rebuild, etc. I'm gonna have to really hunt out the deals on that car when it comes time otherwise I'll get buried quick. Excited about it though. First things first, let race this '33 on the beach!

:)JeffreyJames do a simple search = ''Model A Ford cross member'' tons of pics.
It seems the splicing of the model A cross member is labeled as the ''Bonneville Look'' . It almost looks like the Pierson Coupe was built that way as an after thought , but I think it was done to make ample room for simple gear changes of the quick change ..... Is there a valid reason to use the Model A spring and cross member ?. The Model A spring and cross member are near x2 in height of the later model setup ,which is near flat compared to Model A system.:cool::D

Well the reason I am putting in one now is because a Quickchange is in the works for later. A second reason for doing it like this is to pay homage to something I think is a cool detail on the Pierson Coupe which does look like an after thought which is why is rules. I'm not going to blend my "splice" in either. I want it to look like I spliced a model a rear crossmember into an original and not smooth it out. It's those imperfect details that I "geek" out over.

It also raises the mounting point for the spring further up which will in effect lower the car much like flattening does but yeah I am going to work like a dog to see if I can't put a Cyclone Quickie under this car. That would be the ultimate.

QUESTION!!! I just put these inner fenders up for sale in the cl***ifieds and I wanted to know if anybody has seen them done like this? They have the blister/bubble flattened which seems stupid to me but maybe in the case of running tube shocks or headlights they interfere? Anybody have any cases of this being done?

I get it. The way they actually built RACE CARS, not show rods. I dig details like that too. Quality function over aesthetics.
