So it looks like what used to be a “Suede Pavilion” type theme in that room with primered hot rods and old race cars is evolving into to just early style kustoms and finished early hot rods? Great cars in the photos above, but a different breed from the early race cars, Buick powered Falcon gassers and rough rods of past shows.
Yes the “Suede Pavilion” was cancelled in 2022 due the inability to secure cars and the promoter losing interest and being from SO-Cal. The Squires talked RodShow into letting us do a Suede Pavillon drive in in 2022, then they let us have the room back last year, We rebranded the room Traditional Rod & Custom Showcase with the idea of bringing back a old schools 1950’s-60’s Oakland Roadster show vibe we still welcome primed and work in progress cars but yes no Gassers or race cars were not against that idea but the car would need to fit with the rest of the flow with the room. We do all the promo, setup, awards, and room decoration using our club funds we are not being paid like previous suede room promotors we are doing it to keep our hobby alive share it with others. We have a lot invested into this years show hope you can make it out.
That’s great. For a couple years there it didn’t seem to have the turnout like before Covid so it was probably time for a change. Good that you guys stepped up. Looking forward to seeing your cars this year, never miss it.
There is a saying, " Step up, or step back" You people have stepped up. I won't be able to attend, but thank you for your time and effort.
