A great friend of mine recently p***ed and he had dreams of turning a tudor sedan into a 3 window coupe with a similar look to the Superbell coupe. Well I purchased the project through his estate as shown in the first picture to see it to completion. Combining his vision with mine, here is the progress. I laid the windshield back, heavily chopped the top, used a ‘35 Chevy Master Coach grille sectioned 7” and pancaked 1 3/4”, (as the nose looked too long with the track nose once the windshield was laid back 3”) I’m using a Halibrand 201 quick change, SBC with Enderle stack injection, T-5 World Cl*** transmission, Superbell dropped drilled axle and a set of original bomber seats.

  3. A little more work on the ‘34 after many hours of shaping and tacking metal, I’m finally satisfied with the roof design. Also the grill shell got pancaked to make the lines flow better.

  11. Well I’ve been picking away at the coupe, and gathering parts. I’ve decided on the gauge cluster and found a world cl*** transmission. Working on finishing the custom pedal ***embly and cowl steering set up using a Ross box and 62 master cylinder. I also started mocking up the dash, with the gauges and got the seat pads made for the bomber seats.

  13. Lowered the frame table down to get the car closer to the ground and get a better look at the stance. It also makes working on the roof section and insert a little easier as I decided on a filled roof. Once the roof is all finalized I’ll punch the louvers in the hood and deck lid.

Wow, that little car is awesome. It is pretty rare when you can use something other than a '34 Ford grille and not have it look like ****, but you got it figured out.

    Nice work, -Abone.

  20. I prefer to build stuff a little outside the box, rare or unique. I don’t tend to like cookie cutter cars, and for many years I’ve wanted to put a set of E&J’s on one of my builds. The problem is not too many cars can pull them off. Well love them or hate them, I think this coupe build might just be able to do it.

Love everything about that car. My dream. Not so much about those lights though. Reminds me of a beautiful girl wearing a padded bra.:)

  23. A little more progress on the coupe the last couple days. Cowl filler pieces tacked in and p***enger A pillar metal reworked and all tacked together. Once it is all fit up and spot welded, I’ll come back and Tig it all and metal finish it. Most of the car is going to be run in bare metal.

A bare metal car in the NW? Your doing such a great job why don’t you finish it with paint? Now is not the time to shortcut. You can do it

Luv it...bare or painted...I can see the admiration of both as metal work is a form of Art covered or not...

I can too. But as is so trendy these days is to shortcut the process and take the easy route just to get it on the road for instant gratification. Sometimes in the name of “patina” or supposedly saving some perceived “ history” cars are being put on the road way too early. I may be in the minority here but I’m en***led to express my opinion in a respectful manner. Just such a cool car. Nice work as I mentioned earlier

  28. Finally got the frame welded up enough to get it off the jig and rolling on its own, so I figured since today was somewhat dry I’d roll it out and see what it looks like. I gotta say, I’m absolutely in love with how it’s coming together!!! It’s been almost a year since my friend p***ed and I took on this project, but I know he’s looking down smiling!
