I have a ‘37-‘41 dropped axle but don’t know what the drop is and don’t have a stocker to compare it to. Any tips on determining the drop?

Thanks @guthriesmith. If I knew where the original drop is measured from I could probably determine my drop. Perch boss to kingpin boss maybe?

I am pretty sure you are correct on where that drop is measured from. And, I have a couple stock 37-41 axles that I could also measure to verify that. I have one that is out of a car and easy to measure.

  5. It’s probably a 4” drop, which is 2” over stock. So in reality they are a 2” dropped axle but they are called a 4” drop.

@guthriesmith - if you could measure one without too much trouble that would be great. Thanks!

Best I can tell, it is only about 1-1/4” drop from perch boss to king pin boss on this stock axle which at least appears consistent with the one in my 40 Merc as well.
