Hey guys so my wipers on my ‘63 impala aren’t working. I removed the switch and cleaned it inside and out. I removed the motor and bench tested it and it worked.
I reinstalled it and it didn’t work. I cleaned the brass ground strap and tested it by using a seperate wire onto another ground and it worked but switch wouldn’t turn it off. Any ideas on how to test the switch. The motor works and parks properly when bench tested.

If I remember correctly, on GM cars power is sent first to the wiper motor and then the switch to ground.

It’s weird the 3 bolts that hold the motor on have rubber insulators around them with a brass ground********* one.

Oh okay so the switch might not have a good ground?

Try connecting the wire that goes to the switch to a ground to eliminate a bad switch

Most out here take off the arms and blades then stick a pair of chrome plated do-hickies over the splined actuators…and use Rain-X

So I tried two switches and they both make the motor click, low speed, high and spray. Bench testing the motor and it works fine and parks.

Check dirty connections........Either switch side, or motor side........

Check for continuity in the wires from the motor to the switch.
