Helping a friend with an OT drag car (it's a 66)--it weighs 3600 lbs, 496 BB, powerglide with trans brake, etc.pretty good motor-guesstimate is 650HP (14.1, 700 lift cam, dominator, brodix heads). Anyway it,s been 30 + years since I ran at the drags and they were usually 12.50 to mid 13 second cars. My question is--do these times seem to correlate with each other? Only one p*** so far and it went 10.37-60 foot is 1.47 and trap speed was 126. Anything look out of line here like e.t., 60 ' or MPH/ Thank you
Looks fine to me... Tire technology has improved exponentially from the past as well as suspension tricks. My old Charger & Super Bee ran 13's and they were considered really fast in 1973!
60'' is close...but a lil more for optimal concidering combo- ET is jiving with the sixty... BUT the MPH is low.... There's probably more left in this combo...It takes A LOT to move a barge,so your close.....I'de say concentrate on the 60''. The MPH will show HP. Torque, suspension, proper combo will move it and show as ET.
THX folks--this was the only p*** and he staged at 4100 and short shifted it at 6000--also the adjustable restrictor under the carb was about 10% closed by our best estimate--left pretty well carried the wheels for a ways. Again, this was the 1st p***, then the shift cable broke--think it may hit 10 flat with some tinkering. Going to take it to Sac raceways Friday night and see where it runs this time.
You didn't say what the converter speed is,or what RPM the car is launching at.I agree with Invisablekid,A bit more MPH should be there
Going to launch it at 5500 this time I think and shift a 6800--the converter is an 8" Hughes with a high stall-not my car just helping and did a bunch of the wiring and ***y THX
It's got a 4:10 in it right now--tires are hoosiers and run at 14 lbs--leaves well and I think he will lean on it this week-I think 10 flat is in sight as mentioned
