http://www.craftsmanshipmuseum.com/chenot.htm Check this out, I've seen it in two differant stages. It is now finished and will be at Cabin Fever in York, Pa. Jan. 15. Scrool down and click the small pics of things like the intakes and exhaust parts. There is a U tube of it running too. Straight eight, dual overhead cams, four valves per cylinder. If the link does not work google " Louis Chenot Duesenburg".
For every 10,000 guys who complain something is too bad to fix, there's one guy like this who knows it's just metal and makes something from scratch.
.....Wow......Lou Chenot is the man....15,000 hours in the making of a model car.......I think of the hundred of hours I have in my coupe.....I'll never complain again.....
According to the article Leno allowed him to photgraph his car and take measurements. Themoose, hop on the bus it will be in York,Pa. next Sat.
I've seen it in several stages, I'm looking forward to seeing it complete. As a machinist myself, it boggles my mind. I have a hard time seeing all the details, doing it is completely beyond me. I posted photos of it here from previous shows. lou even developed his own method of cutting the hypoid ring and pinion in his own shop. It's worth a trip to York to see it.
Nuckin Futts! That is amazing, just amazing.... I'm going to stop refering to myself as a machinist, from now on.. Modest hack will do nicely.
The attention to detail, not to mention the enormous talent that gentleman has is incredible. Beyond words!
Only once in a lifetime, comes along a man with the skill and talent to raise the bar to heights never before imagined. Louis Chenot is that man.
