I needed a throttle pedal for the 1-800 special so I opted out of the main stream and bought the Offy pedal. What a rattle trap. Like everything else on the car I decided it needed my touch so I started by sanding the bejeevus out of the piece to prepare it for polishing. Then I decided to add bronze bushings to the main fulcrum joint and the center piece. There is a full shoulder bolt running through those bushings so the bolt threads wont wear the bushings prematurely. Sorry for the fuzzy pic I also added nylon bushings to the pedal pad to tighten it up a bit. Drilled some lightening holes and then ran it across the buffer. Added some polished hardware during re-***embly. The end result I will mount in the car this evening. Still works smooth and easy but no rattle, no side to side movement and not the typical s****. A loud pedal worthy of being part of my roadster.
Tex, if you worry about busting an aluminum gas pedal in half with your heavy right foot you might want to: a. Use less weight on the leg extensions at the YMCA, b. Consider upping your lower end torque, c. Possibly removing a half dozen of your return springs...I mean, damn. JJ, the brake and clutch pads match. I am considering buying some stock in Mother's Aluminum Polish. Anyone know their NYSX symbol? Mr. Denny, thanks as always fellow NW'er. Now you know why I want to drill the clutch and brake levers.
