post some pics of your one off patch panels. when all else fails it's time to make your own.... the pics might seem weird but the car is on a rottiserie. well besides **** around all day. i eventually have to work and this is why i get paid the big dollars. hahaha yeah right the inner dog leg was rusted away badly. we bought a replacement panel inner and outer all together. but the re-pop looked like ****. since these parts don't grow on trees. i had to make my own. i have to make the inner piece for this part. you can see i have already done some patch panel work there as well. I'm just finishing up the puzzle. all hand formed now the top piece. test fitting the finished product. i need about another hour of fine tuning and it will look a lot better. all had formed NO shrinker/ stretcher. made my own wooden bucks and a lot of hammering.
nice nice...i have some pics on the board of my panels but i won't eat bandwith uploading them again...search for "follow me along the journey of the 62" and you'll find it
OK, don't yell at me for the type of car, it is older than I am...and I'm using this car to hone my mediocre body skills so I can fix my '55 Chevy correctly. The whole driver's side lower door pillar was completely rusted out, here's a poor picture of the area after I cut all the rust out: Here's the panel I had to form by hand: And here's the mostly-finished patch in place. The gaps look worse than they are at this point, remember it's not quite finished:
Awesome. Can you add some pics of the bucks and other tools you used? I'm in a similar situation with the doors for my pickup. I've got no fancy tools, no money and no experience. The hard part though is gathering up enough patience and perseverance! I'm modifying the original design a bit to make the bottom of the door curve upward a bit twords the front. I've got the easy part done, now what? Edit: the uneven spray form the ****m i used to mark out my cut makes it look like ****, it's actually nice and smooth.
