Trying to replace a Felpro 1 piece pan gasket with your engine in the car? The instructions say to keep the gasket and all surfaces dry. I ***embled the pan and gasket first (with all the screws) and then ran a small bead of silicone around the outer edge. Then I weighed them down and let them dry. I was then able to install the pan and gasket as a unit without contaminating any dry surfaces. I also found that using two of the plastic installation dowels (one in opposite corners) was less work and just as effective.
