I'm looking for the original owner/builder of this car. It's a 1965 Dodge Dart that recieved a 1966 fiberglass doghouse later. It supposedly ran a Hilborn Injected 426 Hemi. It has a 440 with a 727 in it now. The front end is all glass, the wheelbase is altered, the engine set back. The car is yellow with a black vinyl half top. I see no markings of any kind to indicate sponsors, a name, or anything else. The oldest title I got with it was from a place called "Rolling Thunder" in 1988 where the car appeared to be in Chicago. All I have done to it so far is put some matching 15x10 Ansens and slicks back on it and a tunnel ram dual quad setup. Not really sure which way to take things until I see what it originally was. If you can positively ID it, I'll pay ya for your troubles. Your knowledge has value! Thanks
Is the original fender tag with the car? without any "numbers" is would be hard to trace to any tracks. Was it a later build? Some more pics may help.
I've been told that the car was raced in 65 as an altered. Then a new front end was added in 66 to run it again as "new". It's got a vin and a valid title but I haven't seen any other tags yet. I'm moving it into the shop next week to start digging into it more
sure think it's been on our "Drag Cars in Motion" thread.....not to many pages back from the last page....maybe last month...?
Interesting on the SAMSON car. I know Landy's Dodge had a vinyl top but I hadn't seen any others. I'd sure love to know the story of mine.
Landy's has the vinyl roof and wheelwell treatment but it was supposedly crashed by the final owner. http://www.moparmax.com/columns/magnante/vii_5-5.html
Those rear wheel wells are huge and extend 3/4 the way up the rear fender and above the body pressing when compared to the other cars posted.. Damned if I can locate anything via Dr. Google. Found this car advertised on-line but no history so far.
