I need a hand in a big way...

I NEED to get my car (oh yeah, and an xtra T frame) offa Killer's driveway in Hesperia, and into my parking spot where I live near the Burbank airport.

Skip Jivetalker was gonna give me a hand, but he's been busy as shit lately, and I think a UFO either beamed him, or his cellphone up to pluto yesterday... homie is MIA...

I need to get that POS home between Sunday (4/25) and the following Sunday, if I have a fart in the winds' chance of going to Paso with it. (this saturday is outta the question for me...)

So, I'll provide $100, coverage for gasoline expended, and lunch if so desired. That still saves me over a $100 if I were to rent Uhaul shit, which is about my last option right about now...

I work graveyard shifts Sunday (night) thru wednesday... (until thrus. morning) and then I pass out and sleep most of thursday... So if its gonna show up on those days, go get it and wake me up when its time to park it...

FRI-SAT-SUN I can go along for the journey and help push the shit onto the trailer. I suppose I could go along on Thursday, sleep deprived, but dont expect any intellectually intrigueing conversation, nor will I be able to contain my displeasure well in the even we experience some sort of less than desireable event or condition...

TRAILER, not a dolley... I need something to catch any pieces that may fall off... helps if ya got a truck, cause theres that frame, too, and maybe some extra parts...

Yeah, I KNOW I own a truck, but it has no hitch, bodywork in the way, and has 3/4" of rear suspension travel... no time now to correct all that...

I used to be able to back a trailer thru fast food drive thru, if you want to ride in the LOS on the trailer and drink beer and make me drive, thats fine too, just BYOB...

    Help me MAKE shit happen,
    Thanks in advance,

    Jason 818-919-0287

NO ONE wants a hunnert bux?

AND the dubious honor of facillitating taking a dormant piece of early HAMB history to the next level?

    And free alcohol?

Which car? how heavy is it? have you checked on towing cost? it might be less than a hundred bucks.

Good point... likely 1200 lbs... I could live without that frame for a while, or go up there with my truck... itd have to be flatbedded... I'd AAA it, but taking the 210 to the 15 may put it over 100 miles... If I take 14N to pearblossom to phelan to 395N its about 90-95 miles already...

"Yeah, uhmmmm, I think I have an electrical problem, it wont turn over."

"Son, you dont eeeven GOTS no lectrical system!"

I have a strong distrust for towing companies...

if you have AAA they might be cool on the 100 miles...
I've had a couple times where it was a few miles over and
    they didn't care at all...
but then again, I was riding shotgun, and buying lunch too...

Or, you could do it in two calls..?? merely an idea....
    good luck...!

I need to replace the wood on my trailer. Otherwise I would consider it, of course my truck would probably eat 100 dollars on the trip concidering the price of gas nowdays. LOL

looks like a roller to me.get a tow dolly, unhook the driveshaft (if it has one, that is) and take it slow.that's why you have a truck, isn't it? [IMG]

jason.... i was going to hit up uhaul/budget for a truck.... trailers dont cost much, if you want to split the costs we can roll to hisperia when i come to get that frame???

AAA were assholes when i needed stuff towed... but so long as it has an engine and front end you can say it broke down...

using a tow dolly on the 15 freeway is SKETCHY... especially when them big fuckin semi's are coming at you doing 80mph down the grade...

i've heard [IMG] that you can remove the instrument cluster and put electric tape over the spot where the speedo/odometer feed goes in,if it's just the mileage fee you're worried about...

i have rented longbed pickups from companies like alamo - daily rate... $400 for a week

just gotta reserve something in advance...

trailer can come from uhaul... spent $75, 1.5 days...

as i said on the phone... i *might* be able to take friday off, or most of the day and just work through the night. ill have to know if this is a go soon..

you just rent the trailer, and 1/4 the price of the truck. i can always put the frame from you in the truck bed?

at this point its dependant on the days we have free....

I do whatever you need but I only have a pintle hitch and no trailer. Victorville is maybe 80 miles from sunny OC, can't be much different from LA.

    Love to help this weekend

why don't you AAA it twice?
Don't you know anybody along the way?...Cause theres more then one way to screw AAA!(that was a pun!)
and if you don't know any one on the way, drop it at a gas station..wait a couple of minutes and call AAA back and say you need another tow..... you get three or so a year.. or you can stop being cheep and get the better tow coverage its 500+miles i think....good luck...

Twaaa,it's obvious by your comments you don't know shit. Traffic here is nothing like were you live. There are 10 to 12 millon people in the LA Basin which means a shitload more traffic.
Some of us have better hookups than burnt up does, we don't need to come on here begging for somebody to pickup and deliver our projects.
You usta post cool threads and interesting comments, now you just rag every chance you get.

  24. Tow it yourself with a dolley at 4am? I've helped Kardinals members get their rides across town, once with jammed gears (stuck in first)and we just putted along..took a while but little traffic at the silly morning hour..?

Don't know what the traffic is like where you are though.

    Cheers and GOODluck

alright alright. if you rent a trailer from u-haul i'll tow it. full size trailer is $60 they don't charge any mileage fees just insurance but thats optinal.

i'll use my 85 toyo p/u 4x4. my truck is slightly lifted so i'm not sure if i would need a drop down hitch. then well take care of Plan 9's shit. [IMG]

That might be hard to do, as U-Haul won't (usually) rent to you unless you have a 3/4 ton truck.

Man... this thread has been pulling on me. My problem is that I'm gonna be out of town next week so I couldn't do it until after. I've got a '99 Jeep GC with the trailer towing package. It's rated 6600lbs.

Would U-Haul rent me a trailer? If not maybe a Mom & Pop Rental place would but I've gotten some pretty F'ed up trailers from them.
