    Something that's as "old" as the NOS E-Bay item, I wonder how good the rubber is? Probably just as hard and cracked as mine. It's a really cheap quality rubber. If something silicone based was used, they would last.

  3. Isn't the other part just a basic clear turkey baster? Walmart has them, and if you want a higher quailty, check the chemical lab ware suppliers.

    Never put the battery acid tester in your pocket when your done testing a battery's acid.
     
  5. It's a battery hydrometer. Used to check the condition of lead-acid batteries. It reads the specific gravity of the electrolyte in a cell. 1.280 is fully charged when at 70°F.
