That 58 wagon looks ok. Not $1500 worth though.

and w/the assholes at my work,3 weeks notice is not enough.

  3. If I sell one car, it's not worth my time to do it at $300 and dick around helping someone get it out and load it and on and on, have to wait for no-shows, have to at least sign a receipt, etc etc etc. If I have them crushed, I sell all of them for cash to someone who doesn't whine about every little thing, pays up front, and hauls them all away - I don't have to lift a finger or spend much more time on it than I would to sell just one.

That's why they're $1500. Bitch if you want, that's a good way to see them become flat.

It could be worse, I had Hidden Valley (Arizona) quote me $4000 for a bare shell of a '60 Chrysler a few years ago - something that had no glass, no trim, no motor/trans/etc, no front clip, and no really in demand parts, it wasn't even a 2-door to sell quarters off from. I don't think it would have scaled for much over $200 even when scrap was high. Which is what I accused them of being - high.

I'm all for saving them if the ultimate alternative is the crusher...But I've gotta say those photos suck...once You click on them, You see they're really blurry and out of focus...kinda tough to make out what exactly is supposed to be there. If that dude is serious about getting someone out there with cash in hand to get those, he really needs to put up better pics...

I wish I was close too. I know where a bunch of those Hudsons are but the guy wont part with them. Just going to rot in the woods.

  17. Well did they start crushing those cars today? With the current scrap prices they probably wont bring much?:p OldWolf

I called the guy about the 57-9 dodge hardtop, he told me "the crusher knows what these cars are worth, so it will be about 1200 to 1500 for the dodge"- that is a little far off from the scrap price of $60 (now) or $300 (2 weeks ago).
so lets see some pics of all this stuff 2 feet tall,I am getting sick of these bastards and thier double standards- if you WANT IT, $1500,or else we will crush it and pocket our $300 profit.

  19. I would pay $10.oo for a video of those being crushed:eek: Sounds like some unreasonable nut job owns them. Thinks that we are stupid:rolleyes: OldWolf

I'm sure it's long gone. It was supposed to be gone by the 9th. Of THIS month!

  24. Said it before, will say it again. They're $1500 because the difference in the scrap price and the asking price is what it costs to put up with all the bullshit of dealing with people who want to pay scrap price for them. Trust me, I know from personal experience.

I have a '57 Dodge 2dr wagon right here and I wouldn't take less than $1200 for it. I had a guy offer me $500 a while back for just the core motor - and it's not a Hemi, either, just a Poly. I'm sure I could pull $1200 in parts out of it no problem. It's not 1978 anymore.

I only asked what you might assume to be such a dumb question because it sounds like this guy is just playing both sides of the fence to get interest and if he isn't getting all the attention he hoped he might actually wheel and deal... Does anyone actually know anything about this place instead of just making comments and assumptions?

  27. Things must be different in new york. Heck i have a 65 plymouth wagon with a 318 poly that i would gladly take $500 for the whole thing. I would even load it on a trailer with my wrecker for free! Oldwolf

  28. There ain't no way some of that stuff is goin' to any crusher. And for some of it looks a little pricy to me

Yea most salvage people are a holes:D My dad had a buddy at a yard, tryed to buy a windsheild out of a 68 chevy truck. I was gonna pull it. He said a 100, I said I would give him 50. He said I would rather scap it. He did scrap the truck with windshield in it. Dont get it  Didnt bring any weight, because he broke it out with the forklift.
