If you take that idea to another level it becomes a potentially cool styling feature on a car that doesn't need the blister.

Think about this....Once the sides are sliced off, move halfway out and make another slice. Flip the outermost parts side to side so they're concave and weld in place. End result is a raised outer rib in the flowing shape of a blister.

You can also concave the sides with a hammer like an old skool biker.

Neat tech. Makes me wonder if there's a sweet looking moped somewhere that's got my steering arm blister just waiting to be discovered.......

  5. Clever stuff.

Sometimes things are right in front of us and we don't see them.

I wonder if Dan would like to move out here?

We only get snow 2-3 times a year and this is the deepest one in the last four years.

Visiting Dan's shop would be on my list of things to do.

The town is loaded with hot rods and lotsa project material.

Best of all . . . two donut shops . . . how could a guy go wrong?

Most motorcyle tanks are steel, but some are aluminum. The Yamaha YZ125 I owned had an aluminum tank. Remember to keep that in mind when buying one so you get material you want.

don't know. does'nt matter. just start lookin around. yours does'nt have to be EXACTLY like this one. use what you can find and have available to you. think outside the box and don't overlook what is right in front of you. that is the point of this thread realy.

    thanks Jeff

you can only see one side at a time so close is probably close enough for most people.

yup, just for you Jeffrey ;).

i'm sure he would. he hates the cold as much as i do. i think the problem is convincing his wife to move. :D

Dan had mentioned punching a few louvers in the lower rear corner where the exhaust manifold is very close to the hood side. i don't know if that is still in his plans or not. it would be very functional and probably look pretty cool.

Ok, I am ***uming this is the same Dan that is making his own dual plane intake manifold for his Hemi? No wonder he has you type and post pictures. He's to busy coming up and exocuting these killer low budget fixes. Keep typing and posting. I want to see more!

Yea, It's the same Dan. I'm glad to be accepted into the group, whether we all agree or not. Life would be very boring if we all agreed all the time. Thanks to all who helped the thinking process on the posted threads. I hate to say this but we have just scratched the surface of our minds, when doing anything, always stop, and ask, why this way,why not that way, why up and not down, think, if only to yourself. Have anyone out there done something, went to bed, got up the next day, went back to the project and said, " why did I do that like that ?" I try real hard to avoid that from happening. thanks to all, Dan

I was lucky enough to visit Dan's shop last week and it is as slick as a br*** pole! He's got awesome ideas and is willing to share. His AD Chevy on a Dakota frame fits like a pig in a mud puddle. His Hemi intake is like heat on a bon fire and the photos of the things he's tried and cars he's built is like a smile on the Mona Lisa!
