alright guys, i got the info on turning an 50 ish ford 6 volt system to 12. but whats the story on the same 49-54 ish chevy any switching it to 12 volt.

    with out a complete re-wire

if all it takes for the ford is a few small items and some new bulbs i cant imagine that the chevy could be that much different

but it never hurts to ask

on that note i know when we were doing ford stuff you needed a 56 ish ford regulator. or least thats what i figured.

would any 12 volt regulator work?

As long as it will handle th amount of current you are drawing, I think any 12V Regulator will work...

    I think...

For instance, I don't think I'd try to use the 12v Reg from my harley, for my car... The "draw" of current from the starter, lights, and things might be too much for the regulator.

I think that's how that works... I'm sure I'll get corrected if I'm wrong.
