    Hey gang,

I just picked up a '54 Chieftain that was converted to 12v sometime in it's past, for the most part everything seems to work fine except for one thing. it's a small problem but it's driving me crazy so I need to fix it.

anytime the key is on, the turn signal indicators on the dash flash just like you have the 4 way flashers on, except this car doesn't have 4 way flashers. and the weird part is that the outside turn signals don't flash.
now, during all this, if you put on the turn signal (either direction), the outside lights work properly and the dash lights stop flashing 4 way and work properly. as soon as you turn off the turn signal, the 4 ways (dash only) come back on and flash.

I would expect someone here has run into this issue already, and before I spend many hours digging I thought I'd ask first.

thanks for any suggestions on where to look.

i believe those cars used a "different than normal" turn signal flasher. they make a 12v version.............i think.
