 i put 12 volt batt, internal reg alt., 12volt coil on my car (a stock flat head). when i started it it quickly went south and would hardly idle. points were trashed, i replaced them and the condenser. also rebuilt the carb. started her up again, a little better then back to ****. pionts fried again. now it wont even start. ive read before that the points dont need to be changed so i think somthing else might be wrong. what could these problems be symtoms of?

  2. Ballast resistor (or coil with built in ballast resistor) needed?
