hey guys,I've got someone to teach.My 13 year old nephew (great nephew)has finally shown an interest in cars.We were always close when he was younger--stories about trucks-trains-motorcycles-sculls-& bears--but have slacked off the last little while.Last weekend I started my 55 chev project again ,I've had the old car since 75 , & it's been asleep for about 6 yrs this time.He is ready to work every day after school now.I know this will slack off some,but being that I dont have any kids I dont know what all to expect .I may plug in here from time to time for a little advice. thanks for listening,maybe with your help we can have 1 more in the next generation
Thats right! Give them all the attention you can and you both will enjoy it! My son could hold his own at any car conversation. He was the only 16 yr.old i ever new that could explain the differences between 55,56,& 57 Chevys. He was my best friend.I lost him at 19.
Just do what you know, they learn more than you think. Sometimes they just don't show it for a few years! I have a rule there is no alcohol in my shops, especially with a kid there, that keeps your minds clear. Have fun. Jack
