Make sure to measure that frame to check for squareness and flatness. The pic makes it look a little tweaked.

Looks like a great start. I'm on my 5th deuce pickup.

You’d be the first guy with it that easy then.

Note that your model’s bed is a 34, so it would mess up the spacing if you actually use a 32 bed.

  8. That's 6" of vertical space you're going to lose..in a pickup cab. Hope you've got short legs.

Sounds good to me. For mine I am happy I did the Y-block. It really sets the truck apart. Cab is not roomy, but I am 5’10”, over 200lbs and I do just fine driving it

Stacks were probably an easy way to run the exhaust without going under the fuel tank.

If you cut the 34 box to 32 dimensions in front of the wheel it would give a nice look, and fit the frame

  17. Maybe it's me...but stacks say late 70's/early 80's to me...turn the chrome pipes horizontal and have them following the top of the box and exiting at the rear...that says early 60's to me!

Another vote for running the pipes along the bed rail. If I were doing what you have planned, even though it's chopped I'd study Jeff Norwell's deuce pickup. It sets the bar for bobber pickups. Currently on the Opposing Cylinder site under sold vehicles. Also several other pickups in the same vain on that site.

  19. Didn't they call those pipes along the bed rail "belly burners" back in the day?

  22. Check out this thread for more ideas, there is 29 pages of 32-32 Ford trucks. HRP

  23. Both stacks and bed pipes are TOTALLY traditional. I prefer bed pipes myself but either will look good

I'll keep it short. Though it surely can be done it doesn't work ergonomically -- period.

Neither the Model A pickups nor the '32s lend themselves to channeling. At 5' 5 1/2" the stock cabs are a snug fit. You're 5'11" and you stated in your posts that in the context of work you able to slide into a car driven by a person 5' 2", lat model sedan I'm assuming, but these old trucks are a whole different matter. The seats are like sitting in a straight back chair. You go down your knees come up and hit the steering wheel. Smaller wheel? You've made room for your knees side to side and you have to uncomfortably 'pike' to operate the pedals and your hands are fighting your knees when attempting to turn. I'm not making this shit up as I speak from experience. In fact I'm currently putting a '32 truck body back together that had been both chopped 3.5 and channeled -- what a fucking mess. You can play around with coupes roadsters and sedans all you want. These trucks not so much. Feel free to get in touch if I can be of help. Little juanito
