What a hunk of shit. I nearly threw the TV off the balcony when they butchered that cool old truck.

That's obviously not a '56 Chevy in any shape or form. I think we should complain to eBay.

"...a one of a kind piece of history." It's definitely a piece of something.

It was originally a flat black primer finish. Guess the gold chainers won the battle to resale red!

  8. You have got to be kidding. I guess the bidders didn't watch them build it. HAHA.

"resale red"...that's funny as shit! Is that what I need to do to sell my shoebox? Paint it "resale red"?

Here's my ad in the Palm Beach Post...
1950 Ford Shoebox, totally stock flathead ready to be bastardized, stock guages (easily replaced), wide whites which can be desposed of for additional charge, recently repainted glossy resale red, act now and receive free 26" gold plated chain with matching diamond pinky ring. $26,000 561-555-6666

Do you guys think I'm asking enough? I mean it's resale red afterall! [IMG]

It is completey beyond belief that that 'thing' could be bid up to $135,000. I would not be seen next to it much less OWN it!! First in line for the crusher! What a waste.

22 bids,I think I'll bid it up till the reserve is met then start retracting bids like the goofball wearing his EX's wedding dress. come to think of it this is dumber that that was. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BIDDING HAHA [IMG] and retracting should run it up to a couple million then start retracting bids [IMG]

...and you don't even get the fugly thing until NOVEMBER, after the show season, and thousands of rug rats pawing it all up. wonder if you even get your name on the placard as owner?

the truly amazing thing, is most of the spendy parts were likely DONATED by the vendors!

i can appreciate a contemporary styled rod as much as any goldchainer, but they just plain ruined the lines on that truck!

somebody should photoshop wide whites on it and paint it flat black, so half the people on here will like it.

you guys are funny... if this thing had olds headlights and wide whites and painted up like a fiftys show truck.... which its not far off from in design... you'd have wood.

    It sits like radshits pickup...
    has the same aftertaste--

I watched the show and thought they were heading that way untill they fabbed in the headlights and the wraped seats...

i dont see whats wrong with the lines of this truck at all... i think they nailed it dead on, but it was a confused truck from the time they put the PRIMER on it and sent it out the door...

anytime you play with a pickup your gonna run into issues of balance because of the box, especially a step side.

mix a little more Ala Kart in the mix and this truck could RULE.

the worst thing they did was change the front fender style, it completely ruined the look of it being anything close to a 56 chevy but then again I liked them body styles but to each his own I guess, not my money tied up in it [IMG]

The headlites look stupid and the windshield is to short for a truck that wide.

  19. I wish they hadnt took the damn top off [IMG]. Overall its a decent design.

I like it...Id choose a different color than "rearendme red" tho...If it were me that built it anyway.I think its fun..a sure sight better looking than this new "retro sst" pile of steaming compost that chevrolet produced to compete with dodge on the race to capture all the babyboomers second childhoods.i say job well done CAR CUSTOMIZER.Its not like the truck is super rare either you can get those bodies in fields all over the midwest!!.Someone will love it and enjoy it and isnt that what being an auto ENTHUSIEST is all about?Ok well thats my 2cents.Back to hateing on it Brooos dont mind me.

Not a horrible truck, but it has some issues that keep it from being a really cohesive design. Stuff like the windshield... it's too low (small) in relation to the thickness of the truck, and the corners are just wrong. The cab needs to be sectioned, or the bed raised, or preferably both. I think it would be a halfway interesting truck if they had paid attention to the shapes a bit more, and didn't go so generic with the colors, and the wheels. I dig the blower setup... but again, the motor is pretty streetrod generic.

Not a bad concept, but poor execution...

BTW, the terms are pure BS. Pay in ten days, but you don't get it until NOV?? Whatever... sounds like someone is having some finacial problems and needs a bailout...

  23. I think the price reflects the amount of plastic filler that originally went into the vehicle.

  26. I guess what's funny to me is the listing doesn't even tell what engine, trans, etc it has. They assume everyone watches "rides" or whatever the fuck the show is. I don't. Guess I shouldn't bid then huh. [IMG]

It's infinately better than that "coffin" thing from Texas that keeps showing up on here!!! [IMG]

okay, first--"well over $400,000 to replicate" ?!?! WTF? They must work REAAAAALLY slow for labor to add up like that! And they're right, it does kinda look like the SSR, but buying a ssr for $40g and use the extra hundred g's or so to build a few real cars.

I have no idea who here has seen this thing in person. It was at the last Detroit Autorama. When they unloaded (pushed) it out of the trailer they tried to fire it up and it was a no go. three guy worked on it for over 2 hours and still couldn't get it to run. The guy working underneath (never could figure out what he was doing) was covered with oil and grease when he crawled out and the other two didn't have a clue what they were doing. It was kind of like the keystone cops if your familiar with them.
I walked aroung the truck several times trying to figure out exactly what they were trying to accomplish when they built it and finallly decided they didn't really have a plan in mind, just started cutting and welding and when the smoke cleared this abortion was standing there. It was a REAL waste of a good pickup IMO and saying it was ugly was being too kind.
