For sale is my 145" wheelbase front engine dragster that was completed in late spring of 2023. I built the car to have fun doing some bracket racing. The car was built from S&W Race Car plans using .120" DOM tubing. Engine is a mild 305 Chevy with a 600 Holley running pump gas which can be raced all night on about $8 worth of gas. The car has been very dependable and quite consistent. With the electric water pump and small radiator it can be driven back to the pit without overheating, eliminating the need to pull it back with a golf cart or four wheeler. Powerglide transmission with a 5000 RPM stall converter. 8 3/4" Mopar rear end. Best time to date has been a 1/8 Mi. at 6.52 @ 104 MPH. The car has been a lot of fun and I'll hate to see it go but I realize I'm more of a builder than a dedicated racer. My plan would be to use the proceeds from the sale to build a 60s style, 6 cylinder T altered. Price is $14,900 and includes the single axle trailer that was purpose built for the car. The photo of the car on the trailer is after completion but before being dis***embled for paint. I'm just posting a couple pictures now but have more pictures that can be shared via text. Serious inquiries only please. Lynn Winter 573-286-3335
I'll give it a few more days at the top. I've had questions about acceptable driver size. The regular driver is about 6' and a fit 170-ish pounds. I'm 5'10" with 41" inseam and about 145#. I have about 3 or 4" clearance above my helmet and lots of room. A friend who is also about 5'10" and 190# or more also fits nicely. Top ch***is tube width is 20" inside width. Lynn
I had dropped the thought of selling my dragster but have decided to put it back on the market. As I mentioned in my original post I want to sell it to fund building a 6-cylinder altered on the order of Kay Sissell's altered from back in the '60s and '70s. Since my original post I have had the car inspected by a NHRA/SFI inspector and it is certified to 7.50 in the 1/4 mile. I also installed a new battery so the car is ready to go to the track. I've had questions about the size of the ****pit and I believe I mentioned before it's 20" wide at the top ch***is tube. The cage is 36" tall measured from the seat pan to the underside of the roll cage hoop. The current driver is about 6' tall and still has a couple inches of clearance above his helmet when seated and belted into the car. We raced it yesterday for the first time this year and in four p***es it ran within .06 seconds which I was pretty happy with since the driver hasn't been in the car since last fall. I still have it priced at $14,900 "turn key" and that includes the purpose-built trailer which has a clear Missouri ***le. Please call with questions. Lynn Winter 573-286-3335
